re-touched proposal for mapping video
Overall, I'm largely sticking to what I described in the previous post, but with a few added/altered details. While the idea of doing other points of view in memory is interesting, I think it strays a little from my concept, however I agree that jumping from hazy images in memory to writing would be a bit of a disconnect, visually anyway.
For the first track, I'm leaning toward clarifying exactly what it is that I'm seeing, probably by adding a slight blur to what's visible, except where my eyes were actually looking. This will simulate actual vision, as we can see a good deal but are only ever focusing on a small area of our field of vision.
The second track will remain as described, stills and short bits of motion, blurred and a little less detailed, the colors altered (not sure which direction yet, may alternate). This will represent how memory works, capturing small bits, though not always perfectly accurately.
The third track will be a combination of writing and drawings done from memory of what is shown in the video. The drawings will be sketchy, and not always mirror things quite as they were, both the writing and drawings being derivations of what was actually seen and then remembered, showing evidence of what actual thing they were culled from, but having a distinct nature of their own.
Definitely leaning toward going over to Pioneer Cemetary in town for the subject of this video, I really love it over there.. and it'll look very pretty in all the snow we just got nailed with, I think.
